CHARLES CITY — Lachele “Lucy” Fitzgerald and Cory Wendel were married June 11 in Desoto.
Parents of the couple are Sean and Melinda Fitzgerald of Chanhassen, Minn., and Mike and Kim Wendel of Charles City.
The father of the groom performed the 5 p.m. outdoor ceremony at the Stonehaven Barn, followed by a reception.
Maid of honor was Kenyon Laing of Johannesburg, South Africa. Bridesmaids were Courtney Christen of Otsego, Minn., Amanda Jacobson of Minneapolis and Ellen Price of Milwaukee; Madeline Fitzgerald of Quito, Ecuador, sister of the bride; and Cady Wendel of Charles City, sister of the groom.

Best men were Chad Wendel of Swisher and Alex Wendel of Moscow, Idaho, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Phil Young and Chris Marshall, both of Des Moines, Mike Hangarter and Dane Anderson, both of Waterloo; and Maverick Wendel of Swisher, nephew of the groom.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Minnentonka High School, graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing. She is employed as an assistant editor for allrecipes in Des Moines.
The groom, a 2005 graduate of Charles City High School, graduated in 2014 from Iowa State University with a degree in community and regional planning. He is employed as a manager at Krunkwich Ramen House and is a self-employed musician.
They live in Des Moines.
