TYpisT-AdvAnced Job opening The State Training School (STS) at Eldora offers a holistic social, behavioral, psychiatric, academic, and Special Education program that utilizes counseling, treatment and consequences paired with praise and opportunity to males, ages 12 to 18 years old who have been adjudicated delinquent. Services and programs provide individualized treatment and offer comprehensive education, with a goal of transitioning the young man back to his community. The facility is operated by the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS). The program available for residents includes: • General education studies • Special education programs • Competency-based vocational programs • High School Equivalency Test or HiSet (formerly GED) • Title I • Counseling TYpisT-AdvAnced Coordination with the Psychologists, Psychiatrists, the Medical Team, Counselors, and the Cottage Parents is essential to the proper functioning of the treatment team. The person occupying this position will provide clerical duties to staff and consulting Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and others to facilitate documentation and communication. There will be no boring days as the occupant will serve as a receptionist in the medical area, work with the switchboard, log documentation, and overall enjoy a nice diversity of task. Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: 1) The ability to type at least 40 words per minute, as verified by a typing test, and experience equal to one year of full-time clerical office support work. 2) The ability to type at least 40 words per minute, as verified by a typing test, and a total of one year of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where one year of post-high school course work in an accredited secretarial, business, or closely-related curriculum or 30 semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience. 3) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as a Typist.
