FORT WAYNE, Ind. — NCAA Division III’s top-ranked Wartburg College rocked Olivet, 46-3, and No. 11 Coe, 42-4, Thursday, keeping its championship hopes alive at the NWCA National Duals.

The Knights are scheduled to face No. 4 Ithaca 10 a.m. Friday in the semifinal round.

Wartburg’s Thursday success was highlighted by Cross Cannone and Logan Thomsen as they remained undefeated on the season. Cannone secured a major decision and technical fall in his two matches. Thomsen tallied a pair of technical falls, outscoring his two opponents, 34-0.

Brock Rathbun also made a major contribution for the Knights as he pinned both of his 133-pound opponents. Wartburg 197-pounder Kyle Fank finished his day with wins by technical fall and fall.

Peacocks go 2-1

Seton Hill edged Upper Iowa, 18-17, in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division II portion of the NWCA National Duals.

Logan Hopp secured bonus points for the Peacocks with an 11-3 major decision at heavyweight, but it wasn’t enough to offset a pin by Seton Hill’s Joel Cawoski at 141 as each team won five bouts.

Upper Iowa opened the day with a narrow win over Notre Dame (Ohio), 19-16. Josh Walker (133), Brock Benitz (157), Tucker Black (165), Jordan Gundrum (174) and Nick Baumler each had wins for Upper Iowa during that victory.

The Peacocks finished the day with a 28-12 win over Lake Erie College in the second consolation round.
