AMES — Iowa State won six of the final seven matches and turned back Oregon State 24-16 Sunday in a college wrestling dual meet.
It was the first Cyclone dual win under new head coach Kevin Dresser, and it came after Iowa State dropped the first three matches and fell behind 13-0.
Markus Simmons’ decision at 133 pounds started the Cyclone comeback. Kanen Storr followed with a major decision, Jarrett Degen added a technical fall and Chase Straw pulled out a sudden victory win.
After Oregon State broke that streak at 165 pounds for a 16-15 lead, Danny Bush came through with a pin at 174 pounds for Iowa State and Dane Pestano clinched the victory with a 4-3 decision at 184.
