AMES — Iowa State lost four matches by two points or less and fell to Drexel 21-16 in its opening dual of the college wrestling season Sunday at Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones got off to a strong start with major decisions by Dane Pestano (14-6) and Marcus Harrington (12-2) at two of the first three weights contested.
Iowa State then got back-to-back wins from Ian Parker at 133 (7-5) and Kanen Storr (22-7) at 141 for a 16-9 lead, but Drexel (3-0) won the final four matches.
