DES MOINES — Des Moines scored first, but Waterloo scored four times in the final two periods to top the Bucs for the second straight night in a United States Hockey League preseason game, 4-1.
Des Moines scored the only goal of the opening period on a power play. Waterloo added its own man-advantage goal in the second period when Kyle Koopman converted an assist from Matt Koopman.
The Black Hawks then got third-period tallies from Bobby Trivigno, Matej Blumel and Jack Drury in the third. Jared Moe stopped 25 shots in goal for Waterloo.
Friday night at Young Arena, the Black Hawks tallied three second-period goals and got shutout goaltending from Matej Tomek in a 3-0 win.
Garrett Wait broke a scoreless tie 8 minutes, 31 seconds into the second period. Jackson Cates added a power-play goal at the 12:08 mark, and Matt Koopman capped the scoring with 1:43 left in the period.
