DUBUQUE — Jared Moe provided shutout goaltending and Waterloo won its second straight road game to open the 2017-18 United States Hockey League season with a 2-0 victory Friday at Dubuque.

Moe stopped 30 shots by the Fighting Saints (0-2-1) as the Black Hawks improved to 2-0.

The game was scoreless for 32-plus minutes before Waterloo’s Jack Drury converted assists from Bobby Trivigno and Garrett Wait for a 1-0 lead in the second period.

Matej Blumel made it 2-0 midway through the third period with an assist from Dylan Mills.

Waterloo hosts Dubuque Saturday at 7 p.m. at Young Arena in its home opener.
