WATERLOO — Fargo continued to get the best of Waterloo Friday as the Force rallied in the third period for a 5-3 United States Hockey League victory at Young Arena.

It was the third win in as many meetings this season for Fargo (14-6-1-1) and the first regulation defeat in the past eight games for Waterloo (11-7-1-1).

The Black Hawks grabbed a 2-0 first-period lead by converting both of their power-play opportunities. Ethan Johnson connected first at 12:35, and Hank Sorensen doubled the lead 4 1/2 minutes later.

Joey Cassetti made it 3-0 just 1:43 into the second period before the Force began to battle back.

Fargo scored twice in the second period to make it 3-2, then tied the game 8:51 into the third on a power-play. Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup connected at the 10:11 mark for what proved to be the game-winning goal, and the Force tacked on an empty-netter in the closing seconds.
