LINCOLN, Neb. — Waterloo erupted for three second-period goals and went on to post a 6-2 United States Hockey League road win at Lincoln Friday.

After Lincoln scored the only goal of the opening period, the Black Hawks got a big momentum-changer 3 minutes, 6 seconds into the second when Evan Dougherty turned an assist from Garrett Klee into a shorthanded tally to tie the game.

The special teams struck again less than two minutes later with a power-play goal from Ben Finkelstein that gave Waterloo its first lead at 2-1, and Bobby Trivigno made it 3-1 at the 17:43 mark.

Evan Dougherty, Solag Bakick and Joey Cassetti added third-period goals for Waterloo, which improved 8-2-1 in its last 11 games. The Black Hawks are 19-10-2-1 overall while Lincoln fell to 13-15-0-1.
