FORT DODGE — Noah Faldet had a pair of runner-up finishes to highlight Decorah’s performance Saturday at Fort Dodge High’s Rusty Garst Invitational boys’ swimming meet.
Faldet took second in the 100 butterfly (56.07) and the 100 breaststroke (58.98) as the Vikings finished fifth in the team standings with 252 points. Fort Dodge was the winner with 413.5 points, and Sioux City was second at 366.
Other top finishes for Decorah included the third-place 200 medley relay of Gus Grimstad, Faldet, A.J. Morrow and Andrew Heine. Grimstad was fourth in the 200 individual medley.
Waterloo Swim was seventh overall and got a fifth from Tate Hookham in the 100 freestyle, a fifth in the 400 freestyle relay with Sam O’Brian, Kyle Rodgers, Hookham and Sam Anderson.
JIM VOSS INVITATIONAL: Cedar Falls kept most of its regulars out of individual competition Saturday.
Sam Reinart, Dawson Bremner, Dylan Moffatt and Jared Mattson were second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:30.26). That same group placed third in both the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Waukesha South edged West Des Moines Valley for the team title while Cedar Falls was fifth.
