WATERLOO — Quad City has eight victories in the Midwest High School Hockey League this season.

Three of them have come against Waterloo, including a 5-4 shootout win Friday night at Young Arena.

The Warriors (13-7-1-2) held leads of 2-0 and 4-3, but surrendered a goal with just 55 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and then came up empty in the overtime and shootout.

Ben Sinnott and Carter Herbst staked Waterloo to that 2-0 lead in the game’s first 2 minutes, 32 seconds. However, Quad City pulled even by the end of the period and went up 3-2 with the only goal of the second frame.

Nick Samuelson and Sinnott struck in the third to give the Warriors a 4-3 lead, but they couldn’t hold it.

Kole Latusick and Keegan Smith each had two assists for the Warriors.
