MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Cedar Falls and Waterloo West finished 1-2 at the Kenny Dean Bobcat Invitataional Friday.

The Tigers edged the Wahawks, 122 to 113, for the team title.

Cedar Falls had four first-place finishes with Conner Reihm taking the 110 hurdles in 15.63 seconds, its 4x400 team winning in 4:28.56 and Ross Pierschbacher taking first in the shot put with a heave of 51 feet, 11 inches. That throw was 5-feet, 5-inches farther then runner-up Pedro Gomez of Marshalltown.

Randoplp Bryan was the Tigers’ other winner, taking the discus with a toss of 151-9.

Cedar Falls had 13 top-three finishes, while West had 12.

The Tigers got second-place performances from Steven Thompson in 400, Jonathon Smith in the 3,200, Nick Clark the 400 hurdles and their 4x800 team.

West’s Dequayvious Martin was a triple winner taking the 100 in 10.55, the long jump in 21-feet, 3 1/2 inch and anchoring the winning 4x100 relay team. The Wahawks also saw Alex Hottle take first in the 800 in 2:02.07.

Lance Dunn was second in the 200 and third in 100 for West, while Anthony Ohl (1,600) and Jason Millett (long Jump) each had seconds for the Wahawks.

The Tigers will travel to Waverly for a quadrangular meet on Tuesday, while West will travel to Marion for the Linn-Mar Invitational on Tuesday.
