WATERLOO — Cade McCann scored with 13 minutes left as Cedar Falls stayed undefeated with a 2-1 victory over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in Mississippi Valley Conference boys’ soccer action at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

McCann won a battle for the ball, beat a pair of J-Hawks and his shot from just outside of the 18 found the back of the net.

“It was all effort on Cade’s part,” Cedar Falls coach Spencer Steffy said. “Two 50-50 balls in the corner, out-hustled the two defenders, got open outside the 18 and hammered it home. It was all effort, really.”

The Tigers (5-0 overall, 3-0 in MVC) opened the scoring when Oskar Brocka scored on a penalty kick with five minutes left in the first half. Jefferson tied it seven minutes into the second half.

Cedar Falls returns to action tonight at the CVSC in a rescheduled game with Waverly-Shell Rock with a 5 p.m. varsity start.
