CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Falls dominated from start to finish Tuesday as the top-ranked Tigers overwhelmed Cedar Rapids Prairie in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ basketball mismatch.

Cedar Falls (5-1, 4-1) set the tone early, taking a 17-0 lead in the opening four minutes and owned a 42-19 cushion by halftime.

Cynthia Wolf tallied 15 points and Emerson Green and Kiana Barney tossed in 13 to lead the Tigers, who had five players score in double figures.

Prairie fell to 4-3 on the season and 3-2 in the conference.

CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 77, WATERLOO EAST 58: Waterloo East got 34 points from Kerris Roberts on 10-for-11 shooting, but the Trojans couldn’t stop Cedar Rapids Jefferson in Mississippi Valley Conference action.

Prairie led 21-10 after the opening quarter and 37-22 at halftime. The Hawks (5-2, 4-1) never let East (3-5, 0-4) threaten after that.

Amanee Clark added 16 points for the Trojans.

DUNKERTON 67, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 12: Four players scored in double figures as fifth-ranked and undefeated Dunkerton ran away from Waterloo Christian in an Iowa Star game. McKayla Boeschen and Carli Teisinger had 12 points apiece to lead the Raiders (5-0, 4-0).

CEDAR FALLS 128, CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 42: Cedar Falls overpowered Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet Tuesday, winning every event but one.

Dawson Bremner won the 200 freestyle (1:53.34), Matt Durbin took the 50 freestyle (24.82) and 100 freestyle (55.48), Demir Tuken captured the 100 butterfly (57.91), Sam Reinart touched first in the 500 freestyle (5:01.19), Jared Mattson won the 100 backstroke (1:02.89) and Dylan Moffatt cruised to victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.36).

Cedar Falls also swept the relays. Mattson, Bremner, Moffatt and David Butler won the 200 medley relay in 1:47.28, Reinart, Butler, Bremner and Durbin took the 200 freestyle in 1:35.92, and Moffatt, Tuken, Benson Redfern and Mattson teamed up for a winning swim of 3:26.31 in the 400 freestyle.

DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 105, WATERLOO 64: Waterloo won three events in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet at the Central Intermediate pool Tuesday.

Tate Hookham captured the 50 freestyle in 23.96 seconds, then added the 100 freestyle in 53.47 while Ben Dvorak claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.19.

The TroHawks also got runner-up finishes from Dvorak in the 200 individual medley, Alex Johnston in the 100 butterfly and the 200 freestyle relay of Hookham, Dvorak, Sam O’Brien and Kyle Rogers.
