DUBUQUE — Waterloo West buried 11 3-point buckets and rolled to a 62-39 Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ basketball victory at Dubuque Senior Tuesday night.

West (12-7, 6-6) led 32-17 at halftime. NaTracia Ceaser hit six 3-pointers as part of her 20-point night, while Lauren Conrey had three treys on the way to 13 points. Senior fell to 1-19 overall and 1-11 in MVC play.

DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 82, WATERLOO EAST 53: Dubuque Hempstead broke open a close game in the second half and handed Waterloo East an 82-53 Mississippi Valley Conference defeat.

Megan Gronau scodred 26 points for the Mustangs, who led just 31-27 at halftime. Tamia Sisk had 12 points to lead East.

DON BOSCO 40, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 26: Don Bosco’s girls snapped a four-game losing streak with a 40-26 win over Waterloo Christian.

Kindra Welter led the Dons with 16 points while Marisssa McFadden added 10. Sydney Nystrom also had 16 for the Regents.

DUBUQUE WAHLERT 49, CEDAR FALLS 46: Dubuque Wahlert stayed within striking distance and overtook Cedar Falls at the end for a 49-46 Mississippi Valley Conference upset Tuesday.

A.J. Green’s 13 points led the Tigers (11-7, 7-6). Wahlert improved to 5-12 overall and 5-8 in league games.

DON BOSCO 75, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 23: The eighth-ranked ranked Don Bosco boys shut down Waterloo Christian sharpshooter Luke Zwack and overwhelmed the Regents, 75-23, in Iowa Star action.

Zwack was averaging 27 points per game, but got just three Tuesday. The Dons (19-1, 16-0) bolted to a 24-7 first-quarter lead and cruised from there with the help of Zach Nie’s game-high 22 points. Sean McFadden added 16.

DIKE-NEW HARTFORD 52, COLUMBUS 40: Dike-New Hartford finished at 15-1 in the NICL East as the Wolverines extended their conference winning streak to 13 with a 52-40 win over Columbus.

Hockey

WATERLOO 3 CEDAR RAPIDS 2: Kyle Schott returned after missing eight games because of injury and contributed a goal and an assist as Waterloo fought off Cedar Rapids 3-2 in Midwest High School Hockey League action.

Ben Sinnott got the Warriors off to a 1-0 lead in the opening period. Cedar Rapids tied it in the second, but Kole Latusick scored 2:03 into the third and Schott tallied at 9:39 for a 3-1 lead.

Dawson Sturch had 14 saves for Waterloo, which improved to 16-7-0-0. Cedar Rapids fell to 5-15-1-2.
