WATERLOO -- Waterloo picked up a Mississippi Valley Conference boys' dual swimming win Tuesday, defeating Cedar Rapids Jefferson 88-82 at the Central Intermediate pool.
The TroHawks won nine events, starting with the 200 medley relay of Ethan Staples, Ben Dvorak, Sam Anderson and Sam O'Brien (1:55.17).
Waterloo also won the 200 freestyle relay with O'Brien, Dvorak, Anderson and Tate Hookham (1:39.10), and the 400 freestyle relay with Anderson, Kyle Rogers, O'Brien and Ian Schaver (3:50.03).
Individual winners were Rogers in the 200 freestyle (2:02.76) and 100 butterfly (1:05.26), Dvorak in the 200 individual medley (2:24.62) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.20), Hookham in the 50 freestyle (23.81) and Schaver in the 500 freestyle (5:01.16).
TRIPOLI 56, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 36: Tripoli got off to a strong start and turned back Waterloo Christian in Iowa Star Conference girls' basketball Tuesday.
The Panthers grabbed an early 14-4 lead and carried a 29-12 lead into the halftime break.
Regents' senior post player Emma Armbrecht had another productive night with 14 points. Freshmen Ella Sankey and Amber Smith both tallied nine points for Waterloo Christian.
