WATERLOO — Dike-New Hartford’s Cade Fuller scored 23 points to lead the Woverines to a 64-40 North Iowa Cedar League boys’ basketball win over Waterloo Columbus Friday night.

Columbus trailed just 18-17 after the opening quarter, but the Wolverine defense limited the Sailors to five points in the second period. D-NH then outscored Columbus 16-6 in the final eight minutes of play.

Colton Harberts added 16 points for the Wolverines (7-2, 5-2) while Columbus (2-6, 2-5) was led by Blake Freeseman with 13 points.

DIKE-NEW HARTFORD 75, COLUMBUS 27: Dike-New Hartford’s defense stopped Waterloo Columbus cold in North Iowa Cedar League girls’ basketball action Friday, 75-27.

The 13th-ranked Wolverines (10-2, 8-0) didn’t allow the Sailors (2-7, 2-5) to break double digits in any single quarter.

Offensively, four players scored in double figures for D-NH. Katie Knock had 18 points, Morgan Weber and Ellie Foster added 14 each and Sydney Petersen finished with 13. Knock also had seven assists and six steals.

COLO-NESCO 61, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 25: Colo-NESCO got off to a quick start Friday night and cruised past Waterloo Christian in an Iowa Star Conference crossover game.

The Royals built an 18-5 first-quarter lead and gradually increased it the rest of the way.

Hockey

WATERLOO 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 0: Waterloo got goals from four different players and shutout goaltending from Chase Pabst in a 4-0 Midwest High School Hockey League win over Cedar Rapids Friday.

Ben Sinnott and Keegan Smith scored in the second period and Carter Herbst and Kyle Cowell added third-period goals for the Warriors (9-5-1-1). Cowell also had two assists on the night while Nick Samuelson and Sinnott had one apiece.

Cedar Rapids fell to 10-5-0-0.
