DENVER — Kambrie Clinton had the hot hand Friday as Denver topped Waterloo Columbus in a North Iowa Cedar League girls’ basketball game, 53-45.
Clinton scored 17 points to lead the Cyclones (4-7) while Lila Meyer added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Columbus suffered its fourth straight defeat and fell to 2-6 on the season.
Denver also won the boys’ game, 65-36.
IOWA CITY WEST 86, WATERLOO EAST 55: Waterloo East had no answers for the state’s top-ranked boys’ basketball team as Iowa City West rocked the Trojans 86-55 in Mississippi Valley Conference action Friday.
Iowa City West improved to 7-0 on the season while East fell to 3-4.
