DIKE -- Cade Fuller found his shooting stroke early and Dike-New Hartford steadily pulled away from Waterloo Columbus in a North Iowa Cedar League boys' basketball game Friday, 85-48.

Fuller had five 3-point buckets by the end of the opening quarter on the way to a 28-point night and the Wolverines raced out to a 49-15 halftime lead.

Owen Goos chipped in 12 points off the bench for Dike-New Hartford (13-6, 11-4) and Issac Jorgensen added 10.

Cannon Butler's 10 points topped Columbus.

Girls' basketball

IOWA CITY HIGH 84, WATERLOO EAST 26: Top-ranked Iowa City High ran its record to 18-0 with a one-sided Mississippi Valley Conference victory over Waterloo East Friday.

Ashley Joens erupted for 45 points and set the single-season Iowa City High scoring record with 550. Joens scored 40 points in the first half alone.

Kerris Roberts had 19 points to lead East (5-15).

DIKE-NEW HARTFORD 78, COLUMBUS 25: Tenth-ranked Dike-New Hartford wrapped up a 20-2 regular season and an undefeated North Iowa Cedar League East slate with a decisive win over Waterloo Columbus.

The Wolverines take a 12-game winning streak into the postseason.
