DUBUQUE — Second-ranked Cedar Falls won its ninth straight game Friday night with another impressive defensive performance that shackled Dubuque Senior, 56-15.

The Tigers (12-1, 6-1) haven’t surrendered more than 37 points during their win streak and Friday’s 15 were a season-low.

Senior had just one point at halftime Friday as Cedar Falls raced out to a 43-1 lead.

Offensively, Kiana Barney led the Tigers with 14 points, Cynthia Wolf added 13 and Kamryn Finley chipped in 10.

CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 62, WATERLOO WEST 61: Cedar Rapids Jefferson hit a last-minute 3-pointer and handed Waterloo West a 62-61 Mississippi Valley Conference setback Friday.

The Wahawks (7-7, 2-5) fought back from a 29-23 halftime deficit to take the lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Jenna Griffith’s trey with 20 seconds left proved to be the game-winner. West missed a pair of shots in the closing seconds.

NaTracia Ceaser scored 23 points and Lauren Conrey 17 for West.

CEDAR RAPIDS PRAIRIE 65, WATERLOO EAST 38: Waterloo East fell behind 34-10 at halftime and never recovered in a Mississippi Valley Conference loss to 10th-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie (8-4, 5-3).

DeNae Nash scored 11 points and Kerris Roberts 10 for the Trojans (4-10, 0-7).

CLARKSVILLE 58, WATERLOO CHRISTIAN 15: Waterloo Christian took a 10-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Clarksville defense limited the Regents to only five points the rest of the way in Iowa Star Conference action.

Kori Wedeking had 26 points for the Indians (13-3, 6-3).

CEDAR RAPIDS PRAIRIE 87, WATERLOO EAST 62: Cedar Rapids Prairie hit Waterloo East with 14 3-point baskets Friday and handed the Trojans an 87-62 Mississippi Valley Conference boys’ basketball loss.

It was just a nine-point lead for the Hawks (6-4, 3-4) at halftime, but East (3-7, 1-6) couldn’t keep up over the final two quarters.

Treyshawn LaBeaux scored 24 points and Tyrese Nickelson 16 to lead the Trojans.
