DUNKERTON — Dunkerton needed a game after losing one to winter weather, and the Raiders got one Friday night when they hosted Algona Garrigan in a matchup of top 10 teams.

The eighth-ranked Raiders and fifth-ranked Golden Bears went back and forth all night until Dunkerton finally prevailed in overtime, 76-72.

Dunkerton (19-2) led nearly the entire game until Garrigan (17-4) took a lead late in the fourth quarter. Then with score tied, the Raiders held the ball for the last shot, but missed to send the game into the extra period.

A 3-point shot by Zach Johnson broke a 72-72 tie with 35 seconds to play in overtime, and the Raiders sealed the win with a free throw after a steal.

Dunkerton’s Keleb Westendorf led all scorers with 28 points while Johnson added 23.
