CEDAR FALLS — Three players posted double-digit kills to power the 20th-ranked University of Northern Iowa volleyball team to a three-set Missouri Valley Conference sweep of Southern Illinois Friday at the McLeod Center.

UNI, now 17-4 overall and 7-0 in MVC matches, won 25-16, 25-14 and 25-17 to stretch its winning streak to seven.

Karlie Taylor had 16 kills, Piper Thomas 12 and Bri Weber 11 for UNI. Weber topped the 1,000-kill mark for her career, becoming the 11th member of that exclusive club.

Taylor also had five service aces and 13 digs. Weber added 15 digs and Kendyl Sorge 16, and setter Heather Hook put up 43 assists.

The Panthers hit .329 while cruising through the first two sets and finished at .290 for the match. Southern Illinois (4-14, 3-4) hit .097 in the opening two games and .132 for the night.
