SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Missouri State swept Northern Iowa Saturday afternoon to clinch at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference volleyball championship.

The Bears (23-5 overall, 15-0 MVC) won the first two sets 25-23 before finishing off the Panthers (23-7, 13-3) 25-21.

Piper Thomas had a team-high 13 kills on .423 hitting efficiency. Karlie Taylor added a double-double of 12 kills and 22 digs, Kendyl Sorge had 18 digs and Kate Busswitz had a career-best five blocks to go with five kills. UNI hit just .149 as a team.

The Panthers play at Southern Illinois Sunday at 2 p.m.
