MADISON, Wis. — Northern Iowa picked up six individual wins and a team victory Friday at the University of Wisconsin’s Shell Shocker meet.
Matt Turcotte won the 60 in 7.05 seconds and the 200 in 22.34 for the Panthers, and Corey Hertz added a 400-meter victory in 49.23.
Those efforts helped UNI defeat Wisconsin and Marquette in the double-dual format.
The Panther women got wins from Kassidy Sharp in the high jump (5-7), Madison Irmen in the 400 (57.28) and Ashley Norem in the mile (5:05.78). Sarah Pate settled for second in the weight throw despite an effort of 62 feet, 1 3/4 inches.
Other runners-up for UNI were Taylor Raines in the women’s 60 (7.77), Jolissa Kriegel in the 400 (58.19), Bryce Newcomb in the long jump (22-2.25), Martavian Borseth in the triple jump (44-22.5), Keegan Tritle in the shotput (61-0.75), Dan Blocker in the 60 (7.13) and 200 (22.48) and Blake Langhurst in the 800 (1:55.78).
