AMES — Northern Iowa won six events Friday as the Panthers opened their indoor track and field season at Iowa State’s Cyclone Duals.

Dianna Slight won the 800 (2:17.13), Darius King took the shot put (56-11.25), Connor Ham captured the 200 (21.96), Jasmine Blue bested the field in the 60 meters (7.71), Chaley Rath was the high jump winner (5-5) and Maddie Bell ran 25.36 to take the women’s 200.

UNI got men’s runner-up finishes from Dylan Eigenberger in the mile, Cade Kirkpatrick in the long jump, Hunter Lavallee in the 800, Isaac Holtz in the weight throw and shot put and the 4x400 relay of Jojo Frost, Bryce Newcomb, Connor Blough and Jordan Pingle.

On the women’s side, the Panthers had six more second-place finishes — Bell in the 60, Katie Cross in the long jump, Lauren Frederick in the 60 hurdles, Jolissa Kriegel in the 400, Sarah Pate in the weight throw and Marissa Ward in the high jump.
