GRIFFITH, Ind. — Savanna Hunt’s win at No. 6 singles helped Northern Iowa edge Valparaiso, 4-3, in a Missouri Valley Conference women’s tennis match Sunday.

Hunt defeated Jordan Kopfer 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 for the deciding point in the Panthers’ win.

UNI also got singles wins from Claudia Toledo at No. 3, and Valentina Caro at No. 5.

Caro and Harri Proudfoot and Toledo and Hunt each won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to give the Panthers the doubles point.

UNI returns to action this weekend hosting Bradley on Saturday, and Illinois State on Sunday.
