VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of Northern Iowa women’s swimming and diving team won 12 events and defeated South Dakota 178-122 in a dual meet Friday.
The Panthers’ team of Katie Taylor, Moriah Ross, Crystal Florman and Molly Lembezeder got is started with a win in the 200 medley relay.
Taylor broke the South Dakota pool record in the 200 backstroke, swimming in at 2:14.87 and also won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Lembezeder won the 50 and 100 freestyles, Ross claimed the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, Kylie Engstrom won the 400 and 800 freestyles and Florman captured the 100 butterfly.
UNI also won the 200 freestyle relay with the quartet of Florman, Ross, Olivia Knowles and Lembezeder.
Saturday’s meet at South Dakota State was postponed due to equipment failure at the Jackrabbits’ pool.
