LAWRENCE, Kan. — Molly Lembezeder and Katie Taylor picked up victories to highlight the University of Northern Iowa’s opening day at the Kansas Classic Friday.
Lembezeder shared the win in the 50 freestyle, clocking 23.15 seconds. Taylor won the 200 individual medley in 2:01.33.
Taylor, Lembezeder, Crystal Florman and Moriah Ross teamed up for a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:42.96) and a third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.71).
Other top UNI finishes included a fourth by Florman in the 50 freestyle, a fourth from Alyssa Deuso in 1-meter diving and a victory by Ross in the ‘B’ flight of the 200 individual medley.
