IOWA CITY — Records continued to fall for Northern Iowa Friday at the Missouri Valley Conference women’s swimming and diving championships at the University of Iowa.
The Panthers posted two Missouri Valley Conference record swims and five times good enough for school records while holding onto third place with 402 points. Missouri State leads with 542.5 and Southern Illinois (434) is second.
UNI freshman Katie Taylor won the 400 individual medley in an MVC-record time of 4:17.54. Crystal Florman posted a MVC-record swim of 53.86 in the prelims of the 100 butterfly before winning the event in 54.21.
Florman and Taylor also combined with Veronica Herrmann and Aftin Phyfe to set a school record in the medley relay (3:43.5) where UNI was runner-up to Missouri State.
UNI also received a runner-up finish from Molly Lembezeder in the 200 freestyle with a school-record time of 1:49.8.
