CHICAGO — Loyola pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated Northern Iowa by a 1-0 margin for the second game in a row Sunday in Missouri Valley Conference softball action.
Ramblers pitcher Keenan Dolezal blanked the Panthers on two hits through the first five innings before Kiley Jones took over. UNI threatened in the top of the seventh when Anna Varriano and Kennedy Bailey singled, but Jones shut down the rally.
Freshman Jaclyn Spencer allowed just three hits but took the loss for the Panthers (26-17 overall, 14-6 MVC), who dropped two out of three in the series. Loyola improved to 24-20 overall and 7-13 in MVC games.
