CEDAR FALLS — Senior night proved to be a historic affair for the Northern Iowa Women’s soccer team Monday.
Jenny Wick and Julianne Trizzino scored twice in a 4:02 span in the second half, helping the Panthers pull away for a 3-0 win over visiting Viterbo.
The Panthers got on the board in the 40th minute of the first half on a Johnnie Hill goal, then pulled away with the two quick scores in the second. The goals highlighted a dominant effort for UNI, which finished with a 26-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The victory improved the Panthers to 10-1-1, and helped them tie a program record for wins in a single season. They also earned 10 victories in 2003.
UNI now prepares for a four-game road stretch, which begins Saturday with a 2 p.m. matchup at Missouri State.
