DES MOINES — The University of Northern Iowa women’s soccer team suffered its second straight one-goal Missouri Valley Conference setback on the road Tuesday as Drake held off the Panthers, 2-1.

Drake (10-3-1 overall, 3-0 MVC) got a goal from Cassie Rohan in the 36th minute and doubled its lead in the 62nd minute when Rebecca Rodgers chipped a shot over Panther goaltender Jami Reichenberger.

UNI got a late goal from Jenny Wick on an assist from Hannah McDevitt in the 88th minute, but couldn’t get the equalizer before time ran out.

The Panthers finished with a 14-8 advantage in shots, but Bulldogs keeper Haley Morris came up with six saves.

UNI is back in action Saturday for a 7 p.m. match at Valparaiso.
