TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Emily Snelling scored a four-stroke victory to earn medalist honors as Northern Iowa took second at the Indiana State Spring Invitational Monday at the Country Club of Terre Haute.

Snelling shot a final round 77, one day after carding a 2-under 70, and her score of 147 was four better than Alex Krehbile of Western Illinois, Morgan Brown of Loyola and Daphne Chang of Eastern Illinois, all of whom tied for second.

UNI finished second with a team score of 615, one shot behind Loyola which rallied from third place with a second-round best total of 304.

The Panthers had four total golfers finish in the top ten, as Paige Van Dyke took 10th with a score of 155.

Sarah McMichael and Anne Gradoville, who were playing in the tournament as individuals and not as scoring team members, tied for sixth with cards that read 154.

UNI is now off until the Missouri Valley Conference championships in Newton, Kan. on April 15-17.

In Columbia, Mo., the Panther men completed the first round of the Tiger Invitational in 16th place.

Dayton Federley and Marshall Lamb each carded 3-over scores of 75 which has them tied for 46th.

The final 36 holes of the invitational will be contested today.
