NEWTON, Kan. — An ace by Emily Snelling was the highlight for the Northern Iowa women’s golf team, which is in third after the opening day of the Missouri Valley Conference Fall Preview.

Wichita State jumped out to a lead with a score of 598. UNI’s score of 609 is two shots behind runner-up Indiana State.

Sarah McMichael led the Panthers, tying for ninth with a 150. Paige VanDyk was two strokes behind her, tying for 13th.

Snelling finished with a 153, a performance that was highlighted her hole-in-one on the 17th hole of the second round.

The tournament concludes today.
