CHICAGO — Northern Iowa finished strong Sunday and is in sixth place after the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference women’s golf championship at Harborside International Golf Center.

The Panthers finished at 311 and are just five shots out of third place.

Sonja Przybylski shot a 75 to lead UNI Sunday, while freshman Sarah McMichael posted a career-best 78.

The 54-hole tournament continues Monday.
