NEWTON, Kan. — Northern Iowa got off to a slow start Monday at the Missouri Valley Conference women’s golf championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

The Panthers shot a collective score of 320 and are tied for seventh place 15 strokes behind leader Missouri State.

Individually, Emily Snelling and Sarah McMichael shot 79s to lead UNI.

The second round of the tournament was scheduled for Monday.
