OMAHA, Neb. — Northern Iowa’s Sam DeBartolo shot a final-round 71 and earned a five-stroke victory Saturday at the Nebraska-Omaha Invitational.
DeBartolo, who led from start to finish, followed rounds of 68 and 70 with a 71 for a 209 total. UNI’s Parker Oleson tied for ninth at 222 and Marshal Lamb tied for 17th at 223. The Panthers were second in the team standings 10 shots behind North Dakota State.
In the women’s competition, UNI placed fourth behind North Dakota State, Nebraska and South Dakota. Emily Snelling led the Panthers and tied for 13th with rounds of 79, 76 and 75 for a 230 total. Sydney Eaton used a final-round 71 to climb into a tie for 17th place at 231.
