TULSA, Okla. — Freshmen Hannah Bermel and Emily Snelling tied for 22nd place individually to help the University of Northern Iowa into 10th place at the Oral Roberts Shootout in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bermel followed a pair of 78s with a closing round of 75 and Snelling finished with a 78 after rounds of 76 and 77 as both golfers totaled 231 for the tournament. Sydney Eaton was two shots back at 233, while Maddie Bertsch and Paige Van Dyk posted 238s.

Lamar edged Oral Roberts by four strokes for the team title, 896-900, while UNI finished at 927. Missouri State’s Verena Gimmy was the individual medalist at 214 (70-70-74).

Meanwhile, the UNI men’s golf team wrapped up play in 12th place at the 17-team Derek Dolenc Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.

SIU-Edwardsville won at 841 while the Panthers finished at 910. Jared Rowe led UNI at 227 (71-75-81), which tied for 48th. Sam DeBartalo tied for 51st at 228, Parker Oleson tied for 54th at 229, Marshal Lamb tied for 59th at 230 and Sam Sacquitne tied for 65th at 232. Ethan Brue of Bradley was the medalist at 205 (67-69-69).
