MADISON, Ill. — Dustin Atkinson carded five birdies on the way to a four- under-par 67 Tuesday to lead the University of Northern Iowa men’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Derek Dolenc Intercollegiate.

UNI stood ninth after the first two rounds, but shot up the leaderboard with a 291 final round, matching its best of the season. Atkinson’s 67 tied his career-best and sent him to a sixth-place individual finish at 216.

Davis Sutton and Sam DeBartolo finished at 223, Marshal Lamb and Jack Klingel at 227 and David Spengler at 235.

Meanwhile, the UNI women’s golf team finished 17th at the Bob Hurley Oral Roberts Shootout in Tulsa, Okla.

The Panthers finished at 972 while Lamar won the tournament with a score of 895. Paige Van Dyk’s 235 led UNI and was good for a share of 39th place. Maddie Bertsch and Allison Rolinger finished at 243 to tie for 65th.

Sophomore Sarah McMichael tied her season-best with a 79 Tuesday while senioir Allison Rolinger carded a 76 for her best round of the season.
