CEDAR FALLS — Ten University of Northern Iowa football players earned all-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors, the league office announced Monday.
Four Panther seniors were named first-team performers — safety Elijah Campbell, linebacker Jared Farley, defensive tackle Adam Reth and wide receiver Daurice Fountain.
Earning second-team honors were center Lee Carhart, punter Sam Kuhter and defensive end Rickey Neal, while tight end Briley Moore, defensive back Malcolm Washington and running back Marcus Weymiller were named honorable mention.
Campbell, Farley, Kuhter and Washington earned all-league honors last year.
Campbell leads UNI with five interceptions, while Farley ranks among UNI’s best with 303 career tackles. Kuhter led the conference in net punting while averaging 42.6 yards per punt.
Fountain saved his best season for last as his 63 catches for 915 yards and 11 scores are all either among the Top 10 performances in Panther history or near the top 10. His 11 TD catches rank fifth all-time and he is 85 yards short of becoming the first UNI receiver to rack up 1,000 yards since Eddie Berlin in 2000.
