EAST LANSING, Mich. — Chase Coley knocked down a go-ahead jumper with 6.4 seconds left in overtime, and Megan Gustafson added a steal and two free throws as the University of Iowa women’s basketball team defeated Michigan State, 71-68, Thursday in the Breslin Center.

Iowa (17-6, 5-5 Big Ten) earned its second victory in the last three games, while Michigan State (14-9, 4-6) has lost its last four.

Gustafson paced the Hawkeyes with another masterpiece as she tallied a game-high 36 points — surpassing 30 for the fifth time this season. The Iowa center recorded 13 of her points in the fourth quarter and added four more in overtime to go with 17 total rebounds.

Iowa sophomore Kathleen Doyle added a double-double of 11 points and 11 assists.
