WAVERLY, Iowa --- KatieJo Kuhens has been named Wartburg College's new sports information director.

A 2007 Wartburg graduate, Kuhens returns to her alma mater to replace Mark Adkins, who took a sports information post at Norwich University in Vermont.

During her time as a Wartburg student, Kuhens spent three years working in the Knights' sports information department. She served as the assistant media coordinator at two Division III national championships hosted by the school.

Following a year at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Kuhens moved to Maryville University, a Division II school in St. Louis. There she served as the SID and won first place in a College Sports Information Directors of America regional competition. Kuhens earned the honor for her story about the Maryville baseball team's efforts to help a teammate who had lost everything in a fire.
