NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt made the last run to defeat Iowa State Saturday in a back-and-forth Big 12/SEC Challenge women’s basketball matchup.

The Cyclones (3-4) led early and took a four-point lead to halftime before Vanderbilt surged ahead in the third period. Iowa State pulled into a 72-72 tie with just under two minutes remaining, but didn’t make another field goal.

Bridget Carleton had a big game for the Cyclones with 30 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Madison Wise added 14 points and Adriana Camber 11.

Vanderbilt improved to 3-6 on the season.
