Q: How many calories do you use up per hour of shoveling snow?

A: It depends on how much you weigh. According to information from Harvard Medical School, while shoveling:

A 125-pound person can expect to burn about 180 calories in 30 minutes, or 6 calories per minute

A 155-pound person can expect to burn 223 calories in 30 minutes, or 7.43 calories per minute

A 185-pound person can expect to burn 266 calories in 30 minutes, or 8.86 calories per minute.

Q: There was an actress named Kay Lenz in the ’70s. How old is she now? Does she have a daughter, Bethany Lenz, who’s an actress?

A: She’s 64 and still a working actress. Bethany Lenz doesn’t appear to be any relation.

Q: On “Days of Our Lives,” there was an old woman who had Alzheimer’s. Did she have it in real life? Is that why we don’t see her on the show anymore?

A: Veteran actress Peggy McCay played Caroline Brady, the character who struggled with Alzheimer’s. The actress has had some health problems, but not Alzheimer’s, as far as we can tell.

Q: What is a “go fund me” account? Is this an organized charity?

A: GoFundMe is not a charity, it’s a fundraising website where people can register to try to raise money and where others can make donations. People have started GoFundMe accounts to pay medical bills, for example, or provide for classroom equipment, buy a handicapped-accessible van, make home repairs or cover funeral expenses, as well as more frivolous causes.

Q: Who assassinated President William McKinley? How did he die and when did he die?

A: McKinley was shot in the stomach by an anarchist, Leon Czolgosz, while at the Pan-American Exposition. He died several days later on Sept. 14, 1901.

Q: Where did Abby Turpin work before coming to KWWL?

A: According to the station, “Prior to KWWL, Abby was the main anchor at RFD-TV in Nashville. She came to the cable network with experience from three NBC and CBS news stations: KOLN in Lincoln, Neb., WNWO in Toledo, Ohio, and KXII in Sherman, Texas. Q: When will the city of Waterloo pick up Christmas trees?

A: The Sanitation Department will provide free curbside collection of real Christmas trees on normal garbage route days for the two-week period starting today through Jan. 19. Trees need to be placed clear of garbage containers. Trees longer than 6 feet must be cut in half. Trees should not be wrapped in plastic or contain any metal, wire, plastic, decorations or bases. Flocked trees, artificial trees and trees with decorations will not be collected. Wreaths and other manufactured products containing wire should be disposed of through regular garbage service.

Q: Is the little girl who starred in “The Grinch” in 2000 still acting?

A: Taylor Momsen did act for several years after that movie. But these days she is known for being the lead singer of the rock band The Pretty Reckless.
