Coming of the Lord

BERT KAMPMAN

CEDAR FALLS -- I have heard it said many times over the years there are only two things that are sure in life, and that's death and taxes. Be that as it may, I would like to add another sure thing to that, and that is the second coming of Jesus Christ, which he promised before he went back to heaven after his resurrection and the work of the cross was done.

At his return, he will come for his saints, redeemed, blood-bought children, saved, born-again believers.

Read Matthew Chapts. 24-25, II Thessalonians 2:1-2, II Timothy 3:1-7, Revelation 22:12-30, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, I Corinthians 15:2-25. Note verse 23: "They that are Christ's at His coming."

The Bible divides two lines of people in the world. They that are in Christ, and they that are in their sins. So now is the proper time for ask myself, am I in Christ or still in my sins? Read II Corinthians 13.5: "Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you."

Here is a brief outline of what will take place in the world after the coming again of the Lord. The great tribulation Satan will be loosed for seven years being allowed much freedom by God. An anti-Christ shall rise up with much authority and prosper. In short, it will be terrible.

After the great tribulation will be a thousand years of the millennial reign of Christ, a time of great peace governed by the Prince of Peace. The lion will lay down by the lamb. The climax will be the judgment of the great white throne before which all unbelievers will stand.

During the great tribulation, the devil will be loosed. During the reign of Christ, the devil will be cast into the bottomless pit where the beast and the false prophet are. The end will be when Christ shall have put all his enemies under his footstool.

Yes, he will come again in great power and glory. I pray God's blessing on all who read this.
