Wider vision

CAROL ROBINSON

WATERLOO — I have been getting junk mail asking about my priorities. The list they give is pork barrel all the way through. Certainly there must be people somewhere who have wider vision than pork barrel. Government could stop babying people and allow them to achieve. What goals are worth having? What goals are worth putting resources in?

Let’s try life — individual life from zygote to long-time elderly, life of the plant kingdom, life of the animal kingdom. Where there is health, life wins. Let’s find ways to milk energy efficiently. The communication age has begun. If we can’t communicate to increase life, what good is it?

With means of communication, we can balance as many people on earth as needed. Right now it depends on outlook. There should be as many words for zoo, as there are in some languages for snow. I vote for a zoo explosion. There should be enough plants from the increase without the principle and the same for animals. If we have universal access, tit for tat governments will follow suit. Diversity is our richness. Let’s research plants and animals with jobs in each area. Don’t underestimate God. We are made in His image.

Homeless vets

JAMES GEIGER

WATERLOO — I’m tired of hearing about DACA and the illegal “dreamers.”

If you bleeding heart liberals put half the energy you put into harboring/protecting illegals into protecting veterans, we’d have no homeless/jobless veterans. Until there are no more homeless/jobless veterans, shut your “pie holes” about illegals, DACA and “dreamers.”

Once there are no more homeless/jobless veterans, then we’ll talk.
