CEDAR FALLS — I just read the Nov. 19 column by Dennis Clayson and saw red: This column demonstrates why we need more women writing opinion pieces and why the tired, “good old boy” generation of Mr. Clayson needs to step aside for the modern era.
His tone is tone deaf; his attempt at humor and arguments reveal his deep-seated bias toward Hillary Clinton, women and those liberals he attacks so diligently. His logic and arguments are flawed and do not deserve to be included in a reputable newspaper.
To belittle the women who were the targets of Judge Roy Moore’s sexual advances is to belittle all women; however, more to the point, many of these women were children at the time Moore molested them. Moore’s actions were illegal, immoral and those of a predator/pedophile.
The fact he was a lawyer, an assistant district attorney and even a judge during his career reveals the terrible truth: He saw himself as above the law. There is no defense for Moore’s actions or Clayson’s column.
