BUCHANAN COUNTY -- A Waverly woman was taken to the hospital after wintry weather caused her to lose control of her vehicle on the interstate Sunday night.
Alice Schmidt, 65, of Waverly was taken by North Benton ambulance to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo with unspecified injuries, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Troopers say Schmidt was driving a 2006 Chevrolet cargo van northbound on Interstate 380 near mile marker 49 in Buchanan County at around 8:40 p.m. Sunday when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the east ditch. Her vehicle then rolled, according to the report.
The crash was caused by weather and road conditions at the time, according to the Patrol.
Schmidt was wearing her seat belt at the time, according to the report.
