WATERLOO, Iowa - A semi driver escaped injury when his truck overturned on icy Highway 20 between the Highway 63 and Ansborough Avenue exits Sunday morning.

But the trailer was destroyed and his cargo of television broadcasting equipment was likely damaged, according to the police department accident report.

The crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. in the westbound lane of Highway 20 when the driver, Steven Brost, 49, of Watertown, Wis., was looking for road signs to direct him to his exit. When he looked back the road, he saw a slow passenger car in front of him and stepped on the brakes to avoid hitting it, the report states.

The semi, a 1996 Kenworth, slid into the median and tipped onto its side.

The truck was hauling $3 to $4 million worth of broadcasting equipment, the accident report states.
