GRUNDY COUNTY -- A Parkersburg man sustained minor injuries after officials said he fell asleep at the wheel on Highway 57.
Ricky Clay, 39, of Parkersburg, was driving a 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup westbound on Highway 57 at 110th Street at around 11 p.m. Friday when he fell asleep at the wheel, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
His pickup crossed the center line and went into the south ditch, coming to rest in a field, according to the crash report.
Clay sustained minor injuries in the crash but refused medical attention. He was wearing a seat belt at the time.
The Bremer and Butler County sheriff's offices, as well as New Hartford Ambulance, assisted the patrol.
